Linux hardware vendor Purism announced today on Twitter that they have recently updated the librem series of notebooks with more powerful processors and graphics cards. Purism is known for producing, delivering security and privacy-centric laptops that use the Linux operating system. They have their own GNU/Linux distribution called PureOS, based on the popular Debian GNU/Linux distribution, pre-installed on all Librem laptops.
The company today announced a new hardware promotion that you can purchase at the librem 13 and librem 15 high-end notebook series, including the 7th generation 3.50GHz Intel Core i7-7500U processor, two cores and four threads, integrated with Intel HD Graphics 620 graphics card. Purism said on Twitter: Librem laptops and mobile phones can protect your digital life, security and privacy. Today, it offers new processors and graphics cards for all Librem notebooks and a 4K/HiDPI screen for 15-inch models, allowing customers to enjoy digital content in all lighting conditions with resolutions up to 3840x2160.

In addition, consumers can purchase the librem 5 smartphones early bird version for $599 before January 31, 2019, as the upcoming Linux phone will cost $649 from February 1. Purism expects to launch their first Linux phone, librem 5, in April 2019.
